Robert Kinsler who writes for the Orange County Register and also has an excellent blog over at Rock ‘n’ Roll Truth has penned a couple of articles on dada’s upcoming show at The Coach House.  Be sure to check them both out and if you haven’t got any plans on Friday night, get yourself out to San Juan Capistrano for an excellent show.  Or make it a twofer and follow the guys to L.A. on Saturday for an outdoor show at Pershing Square.

Sweet Dark Angel – Delicious

Sweet Dark Angle by Tad Dobbs

Tad Dobbs "Sweet Dark Angel"

A few days back I got a note from Tad who has a really neat project going on. He’s creating a new illustration, every day for a whole year. Each drawing represents music that has inspired him creatively and number 307 features none other than “Sweet Dark Angel” from dada’s self-titled fourth album. Check it out on his blog at Creative Squall.

New Radio dada posted…

a friend of dada

a friend of dada

Yeah… it’s been a while since I’ve updated the Radio dada play list, but that makes this one extra special – right? No sooner had I posted the regular “I need a good idea for a play list” than A Friend of dada came up with a great concept. He wanted to feel like he was at a dada show. Well, we can accommodate. This lineup features an uncut dada show from 2006. On February 24th of that year, the band rolled into Philadelphia’s North by Northwest club and burnt the mofo down. The show included old favorites and even previewed some new tunes like “Rainbows, Butterflies and Hand Grenades.” It also featured a blistering 16-minute version of “Ask The Dust.” Yikes. Get your groove on.

Rainbows, Butterflies and Hand Grenades – Available Now

A Friend of Pat Robertson: The Sessons

A Friend of Pat Robertson: The Sessons

If  you were lucky enough to catch dada on their past couple of tours, then you probably found yourself humming “Rainbows, Butterflies and Hand Grenades” on the way home, wondering when it would surface.  Well, the wait is over as dada would love to share the studio version of this concert staple with you now, for FREE.

Recorded during the A Friend of Pat Robertson sessions and produced by Jeff Trott, “Rainbows, Butteflies and Hand Grenades” is now available to download in three different formats: CD-quality WAV and AIFF files to burn to disc or media server and a 320kbps VBR MP3 for your portable media player.

Each zip file below contains the format listed, plus album art to print or import into iTunes.

Thanks for the continued support,

Joie, Michael & Phil

September 2009 – Radio DADA

Sorry – got a little caught up at the office and forgot to have an August play list contest.  However September’s play list more than makes up for it.  Big props to BoulderCreekdadafan for a great list that’s chock full of rarities.  Have a listen right now.
