Howdy folks. Delurking, finally, with a report from Santa Barbara...
Set list:
Dim
Playboy in Outer Space
Surround
Trip With My Dad
Feet to the Sun
Here Today
Sick in Santorini
Jenny From the Block (!?)
Ask the Dust
Information Undertow
Baby Really Loves Me
Moon
Posters (abbreviated)
Dizz Knee Land
Dorina
---
As always, the band played wonderfully. I wish there had been more people there to see it; there was not a big crowd. I was there with a couple of friends who, though long-time fans, had never seen the band before. They were *really* excited, and Phil, Joie and Mike didn't disappoint.
When Joie and Phil arrived, they seemed a little upset about something. Size of the stage? Sound system? I didn't ask, but there were some conversations (with much gesticlating) with people from the club. But the gear was set up, and the show was on. The opener (World Without Sundays) was fantastic.
The boys put on a good show, but it seemed a little abbreviated. Probably in no small part due to the fact that Posters *was* abbreviated. One verse, chorus, and then into the double-time ending. Bit odd, that. But they launched straight into DKL, so I was happy.
So, overall, good show, lots of fun, poorly written review. Anybody else who was there want to add anything?
