Hey All,
I was at the Richmond gig last night very rocky start, the club owner was a no show and they almost didn't go on at all..... but the boys, after cooling in their van on the street for a half hour things finally worked out. (All praise to Road Manager Mick!) Just a fantastic show, no more than 70 - 80 people in attendance, 6 drove up from Norfolk, both bands hung out to watch, that's another 10, wait staff maybe another dozen... so maybe 50 people from the Richmond area actually showed..... club is an old factory, un air conditioned..... in a brick alley you couldn't drive an SUV down....
They started off the show in a pissed off mode, very evident, but about the third song (Surround) the guys just decided to have fun.... and mannnn.... did they ever.... request's Who You Are (me), Beautiful Turnback Time Machine and All I Am during the encore....... really had the sense they were enjoying themselves, stretching solos, just great for the folks who did show.....
Setlist:
Dim
Playboy In Outerspace
Surround
Trip With My Dad
Feet To The Sun
Here Today Gone Tomorrow
Sick In Santorini
Ask The Dust
Who You Are (request - me)
Beautiful Turnback Time Machine
Information Undertow
Moon
Long Drum Solo & Guitar/Drum Jam*
Posters
DizzKneeLand
All I Am (request)
Dorina
The long drum solo, drum/guitar jam came about when Joie decided to take his video camera and record from the Alley Katz's balcony, only they had locked the artists door and so Joie had to ask for directions and had to run through the crowd and up the stairs near the entrance, after video-ing Phil for a while, Mike came on stage and plugged in, and apparently Joie thought it would be cool to video a little of that too.... absolutely manic......
Between the Norva and last night, best 72 hours of my life in a very long time... didn't even mind the 3 hour drive up.....
Ciao

It depresses me that there was such low attendance. I just hope it doesn't get the guys down too much, if at all.
I assume so, but I am wondering if you got this show on tape as well? Sounds pretty cool! How long was this show?

I think this show was added late to the tour schedule, and not heavily promoted -- the big weekly arts magazine in Richmond, "Style Weekly", didn't even have the show listed, and Ticketmaster still wasn't selling tickets as of Monday afternoon.
I would have gone (I live around Richmond) but I had just gotten back from the NorVA show the day before and couldn't get another night out from the family so soon
.
Guess I picked the right VA show to go to.

I knew I should have gone. I wish i had. I hate myself for not going. Mike, Joie, Phil I apologize for not being there and not letting you guys know how great we all think you are. I'm still smiling from the Norva show but also dreading this Friday nights jam(my guitarist was there) because I know will be playing dada covers for the next 18 months(we suck but we have fun). Peace out to all and to the guys whether its 10 or 10,000 people at the show REMEMBER YOU RULE

Heads up Michael, Joie and Phil the Triumph looks like it will be sold out for tomorrow nights show...200 tickets sold! And I would imagine they could fit a few more dada fans if need be. After seeing them at the Norva I would watch through the window if that were the only seat left in the house. See you front and center. Matt from Philly (actually it's Langhorne)
P.S. M, bob was that you I was discussing the drum head with at the Norva?
