Opening Act 1: World Without Sundays
Great stuff. If you like DADA, you'll probably like these guys outta LA. They're playing some gigs on their own around the midwest in the next week and a half. Very short set though.
Opening Act 2: The Goldstars
Kinda garage rock with a 60s vibe to it.
DADA
------------------
Dim
Playboy In Outerspace
Surround
A Trip With My Dad
Feet To The Sun
Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
(Joie sings Skater Boy again for a few bars)
Sick In Santorini
Heaven And Nowhere
Boogie Fever
Ask The Dust*
Gogo**
Hollow Man***
Mary Sunshine Rain
Moon
Posters****
Dizz Knee Land
--------------------
Curtain call for Jeremy the stagehand
Paper, Scissors, Rock
Dorina
* Joie took an extended bass solo on Ask The Dust while Mike switched guitars due to a broken string.
** AMAZING! Mike only played guitar during the solos, otherwise it was just bass, drums, and vocals.
*** First time since 1995! Thanks Maria!
****Mike walked off the stage during Phil's drum-solo intro to Posters and Phil had a LOOOOOONG solo, with a couple of stops, looking around as if to say "where are you guys?" Then the three lads traded licks before Mike finally kicked in with the vocals.
All in all, a good show even if the sound wasn't great and the encore was too short because 1. These old theaters are cool!, and 2. NO SMOKING! On to Park West....
Adam
PS: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, this show was the first to see the NEW black dada t-shirts!

We got there about 6:45...while we were checking out the new shirts and hats and stuff, Phil came out to look at them as well, as they were new to him, too. Until the first band started, Mike, Joie and Phil were wandering around the venue (what other band do you get that from, huh?). Mike and Joie were signing some autographs and I went up and asked them to play Hollow Man "for my girlfriend"...to which Joie jokingly (?)replied "I don't know...I didn't see it on the set list".
Mike came over to us a few minutes later and asked how we were (!) and we brought up playing Hollow Man again...to which he replied, "I'll check with Joie."
After the show, I found out that Mike asked the other two on the bus about playing Hollow Man, and after the three of them tried to remember the lyrics, Joie jotted down some notes to help him along (he was glancing down occasionally during the song). Mike brought up that Maria's been asking for them to play the song "for 8 and a half years", so they'd give it a shot! What a memorable night...thanks again guys!
Oh, and the version was not too shabby for not being rehearsed! In fact, it was quite good!

It looks like Mike's left arm was buggin him but he made it through to another
great Gut check time.
Set list pretty much the same cept for Hollow Man and a stripped down GoGo sans Git.
On to Ohio and I'll wait for Park West.
Hopefully another Video in the near future. Park West would be Creme de la Creme. So far St Chuck is my best to date.
The Band The Sound The Lighting muy bien!
