Just a quick overview of the Memphis show last night (10/15).
Excellent.
I've been a huge fan for the last 8 years, or so, and this was the first time to see the boys live (I did see BFJ play 5 songs in Nashville last year), and they do not disappoint. I push DADA on people all the time (bordering on obsession) with some success. I brought 3 friends along last night and they all had a great time and loved the band.
As has been discussed often on the board, it is amazing that these guys exist in relative obscurity and are playing in these small bars. Last night, there were 50-60 in attendance at the Hi-Tone Bar. In my perfect world, they would have been playing downtown in front of 20K in The Pyramid. There is a selfish bright side with these venues - great seats!
The guys played for close to two hours, I think (I wasn't really timing them).
The opening band, Crash into June, who I had never heard of, was quite good, also. I picked up their CD, along with Michael's Jazz CD (very cool).

Can't wait for my next opportunity!

(Sorry it has taken me so long to post)
The show was friggin awesome as usual. This was only my third time to see the boys. I was having a tottally s**ty day that Wednesday and almost thought about not going. WHAT WAS I THINKING!! The show made me feel 200% better. It was about the same turnout as last time they played at the New Daisy Theater on Beale St. but not half as many people as the Park West show in Chicago in April. I hope to see the guys 100 more times in the future.
