The show last night was absolutely amazing!! We haven't seen the band in about 6 months and the time on the road has done wonders. Tight, blistering rock with all sorts of tasty side jams and even a Neil Peart-esque drum solo.

I was a little worried when we got there and the crowd was absurdly small (Where the hell was everyone?). The guys could have come on stage, played the basic set and bolted. Instead, they came out and rocked for over 2 hours, with a Joie solo effort (Morning Sickness), a Butterfly Jones fav (It's Cool-Phil Leavitt on solo guitar) and a new song. . .I think it was called "It's All Right"? Otherwise, the set list, from what I can remember, pretty much followed the Omaha show.

These guys are amazing. Every, single, frickin' time. . .amazing. As far as Dada show's go. . .and I've seen 17, now. . .arguably top 2. Thank you, gentlemen, and I, along with a larger crowd of friends, will be seeing you on Friday at the Bluebird.:D

Wow, you guys got "Gogo"?? Man I'm jealous-- I was yelling that all night at the Minnepolis show but they wouldn't stray from the standard setlist. I wonder what gives. Several reviews were saying they've been taking requests and I kinda thought since this was their second time through here we might get lucky, but no. Oh well, I guess can't look a gift gig in the mouth...
you know we're in this thing... together ***

Chucklenuts & Gregory,

I am glad to hear that you guys had a great time. You are both so, so ,so lucky that you go to hear Joie play his new stuff and Phil sing "It's Cool Dude".

Does anyone have pics from the show?

Woke up this morning with 'Baby Really Loves Me' running thru my head. What a show!!

The whole time Phil was singing 'It's Cool, Dude' I was thinking - yeah, I'd like to have a cutout of that!!:D

Mary Sunshine Rain was a real treat - it's the first time I've seen them do that one live and it sounded SOOOOOOO good. Gogo was fun, everyone was dancing and having a great time.

Wish I had pictures - the other Bld tread explains what happened. I was in such a primo spot too. It was fun standing off to the side, looking down at the folks on the dance floor having a wonderful time. There were two taller guys who looked like they were having the time of their lives, belting out every line of every song.

Finally got my CofG last night - first listen on my way to work today. LOVE IT!!

I'm sitting here in my new hoodie. It's so warm and comfy - just like a Joie hug!!

I have the capability at work to print a full size color picture of Phil. Thank God he's not too tall!!! Of course this uses taxpayers dollars so I could only do a couple. You could then attach it to your own cardboard or wall. Unfortunately my photo is only from the knees up.
I would do this as a service to the ladies on the board.

Yes, I did see that picture before - love it!! It was kinda funny after the show we had all been kicked out of theater and into the lobby - hanging out, hanging out, waiting for the guys. In walks Phil and no one makes a move. He was probably wondering if anyone knew who he was... So, there I go with my arms outstreched for a big hug and asked him to sign some of my cd inserts.

I was going to ask him the name of his shirt last night but got completely tongue-tied and didn't remember. It looked yellow but that could have been the stage lighting.

It just floors me that these guys aren't selling out much larger venues - what they offer is not even in the same league as a lot of those crappy acts making huge dollars. One really great note - one of the people I took last night was a dada virgin and really not all that familiar with their music. He was so TOTALLY blown away that he's going to start turning people on to the band. He's a drummer and stood in front of Phil the whole show just mesmorized. He still hasn't stopped thanking me for turning him on to dada.

Let me do a test to see how good it looks and I'll let you know. I have to do it after hours.
Lester Burnham: When I was your age, I flipped burgers all summer just to be able to buy an eight-track.
Ricky Fitts: That sucks.
Lester Burnham: No, actually it was great. All I did was party and get laid. I had my whole life ahead of me.

I agree Alana.... I think a cutout of any of them would be great. I know that there would be lots of girls who love a big pic of Joie with his arms wide open ready to give a hug.:D

Sorry, Sandy-

Didn't mean to steal your whole quote there. Still trying to figure this thing out.

Wnated to say that I was one of the two taller guys belting out the lines. . .what can I say. . .the music moves me. I'll tell you right now that I'll be doing the same thing Friday night. Was going to do it Saturday night, too, until the cancelled the show.

Hope I wasn't too anoying.:D

Ahhh. . .that was the other guy. I was the good looking one. :D We did some quick bonding over the music. Best Friends Forever!;) I was wearing the white T-Shirt and ball cap.

I moved over by him, and his shorter buddies, about half way through the show. Wanted to be center stage and all. . .like it was tough. . .all 30 of us on the floor and all.

I printed one 36 wide by 55 tall. It's not too bad, a little pixelated as it was from a digital camera to start with.
First U2U with an address gets it!!!!
I know how much fun I had in my youth with my Farah Faucett poster on my wall! :o :D :o :D :o

Don't worry ladies, I'll do more.
Have to come in on the weekend though.
I'll wait for Alana's feedback first.
