Dada: Live: Official Bootleg Volume I
After a four-year hiatus from both recording and touring, L.A.’s power-pop trio Dada has now officially resurfaced. They recently finished an extensive national tour in support of their newly released, first-ever live CD, which was recorded in Santa Ana, California this past July.
The 11 tracks on this disc showcase the band’s strong songwriting skills, including popular hits such as “Dim” and “Dizz Knee Land,” as well as high-impact versions of fan favorites such as “Dust,” “Feel Me (Don’t You),” and “Dorina.” The energy of a live Dada show is realistically captured on this recording, and ample proof is provided that the band is picking up where they left off in 1999, both instrumentally and vocally. A studio CD of brand-new Dada material is scheduled for an early ’04 release. In the meantime, Official Bootleg Volume I allows the listener to experience the band at its finest: in a live setting, performing some of the best songs of their career so far. (MU)
